WBA, WBC & WBO Female Welterweight Champion Cecilia Braekhus (16-0, 4 KOs) will make another defence of her title collection on April 2 when she takes on Jill Emery (10-4, 4 KOs) at the TV2 Fight Night in Herning, Denmark. Unbeaten in 16 fights (4 KOs), the First Lady is looking to continue her winning streak which has lifted her to international stardom. In Germany, Braekhus was voted Female Boxer of the Year by renowned Boxsport Magazine, while international boxing portal BoxRec most recently awarded her with the prestigious “number one shirt” (see attached picture). “I really felt honoured,” Braekhus said. “The two awards mean a lot to me and make me very proud. However, they won´t mean a thing when I step through the ropes in Herning. Emery is a tough opponent. There is a reason why BoxRec has ranked her in the second position behind me. I am prepared for a hard fight and I will make sure that she stays the number two.”

Team Sauerland sports director Hagen Doering also expects a tough fight. “A clash between the world champion and the top challenger guarantees excitement and great boxing action,” he said. “It will be very interesting but I am sure that Cecilia´s superior boxing skills will lift her to another victory.”
