PETER MANFREDO JR. VS. ANGEL HERNANDEZ SATURDAY, MAY 22ND

Providence, RI (April 9, 2010) TKO Boxing Promotions will host a press conference this Tuesday, April 13th at 11:30am in Providence to formally announce the sensational IBO Middleweight Title bout between Peter “THE PRIDE OF PROVIDENCE” Manfredo Jr. and Chicago’s Angel “EL TORO” Hernandez, set for Saturday, May 22nd at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, CT.


Further details on a terrific undercard including the return of Hartford’s Matt “THE SHARP SHOOTER” Remillard will also be announced.


The press conference will take place at the Zuccollo Recreation Center, 18 Gesler Street in Providence.

Peter Manfredo Jr. made his return to the Mohegan Sun Casino on January 29th with an outstanding shutout ten round decision over Minnesota veteran Matt Vanda, acquiring the NABF Middleweight Title in the process. In front of a large and passionate crowd, Manfredo dominated Vanda from the opening bell as he won his third straight bout.


With a record of 34-6-0 (18KO’s), Manfredo is currently world ranked #10 by the World Boxing Council.


Hernandez, a native of San Luis Potosi, Mexico, 30-7-0 (17KO’s), has battled numerous world champions and contenders over his fourteen year career including Winky Wright, Frankie Randall, Kassim Ouma, Wilfredo Rivera and JC Candelo.


Known for his fan friendly all-action style of fighting, Hernandez won both of his starts in 2009, a unanimous decision over highly regarded prospect James “BUDDY” McGirt Jr. on January 16th and a sixth round stoppage over former world champion Antwun Echols on August 21st.
