WBC jr middleweight champion Sergio Martinez (45-2-2, 23 KOs) moved up 6lbs to fight and capture the WBC/WBO middleweight championship from Kelly Pavlik (36-2, 32 KOs) by twelve round unanimous decision on Saturday night at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Martinez was sharp and quick, as he outboxed the bigger Pavlik, cutting him over both eyes in route to a convincing unanimous decision. Pavlik began to find a moving Martinez with right hands in round five. Pavlik's punches began taking affect in the middle rounds, scoring a flash knockdown against an off balance Martinez in round seven. Martinez turned the fight around lat and dominated rounds the championship rounds easily. Pavlik’s face was a bloody mess when the bout ended. Scores were 115-111, 116-111, 115-112. Pavlik said, after the fight, that he'd exercise the rematch clause in the contract.

Unbeaten WBA #6/WBO #8/IBF #10/WBC #15 welterweight Mike Jones (21-0, 17 KOs) scored a fifth round stoppage over Hector Munoz (18-3-1, 11 KOs). Jones punished Munoz the entire fight and referee Benjy Estevez finally waved it off at 2:03 of the fifth. Jones retained his NABA belt and added the NABO belt.

Unbeaten Olympian middleweight Matt Korobov (11-0, 8 KOs) won a workmanlike eight round unanimous decision over Josh Snyder (8-5-1, 3 KOs). Scores were 79-73, 78-74, 78-74.

Super welterweight Ronald Hearns (25-1, 19 KOs) destroyed Delray Raines (17-8-1, 12 KOs) in the first round. Raines was down twice, the second time for an extended period. Time was 1:47.

Super lightweight Vincent Arroyo (10-1, 7 KOs) scored a nice eighth round KO over previously unbeaten Jeremy Bryan (13-1, 6 KOs). A barrage of punches by Arroyo sent Bryan down for the count at the 1:43 mark.

Former heavyweight contender Dominic Guinn (33-6-1, 22 KOs) scored a seventh round TKO over Terrell Nelson (18-11, 5 KOs). Nelson was unable to come out for round eight.
