Shobox results:
Allan "Sweetness" Green vs "Marvelous" Tarvis Simms
The southpaw, Simms came into the fight looking out of shape, but to his credit he took the fight on short notice. Green looked to establish an educated jab and following it up with a good right hand. Simms, not impressed with Green, would pick his shots well by finding Green vulnerable to counter hooks. Simms chose to fight in the conventional stance which wasn't what Green expected to see. Simms looked to prove that he belonged in the ring with Green as he tried to adapt to his super middleweigh opponent. Green began to find his rhythm by unloading ruthless combinations to Simms buzzing him in the process. The 38 year-old Simms continued to press, but he was consistently caught with counter hooks upstairs and to the body. At the mid-point of the fight Simms would choose to fight in his normal southpaw stance which slowed Green's aggression. simms leftie stance seem to befuddle Green as he caught "Sweetness" with a pair of straight lefts that kept him offset. The remainder of the fight was very tactical as both fighter had their moments, but Green did enough to secure the decision on the cards with scores of 98-92, 99-91, 97-93.
Antwone "The Truth" Smith vs Henry Crawford
Henry Crawford came out very aggressive looking to establish dominance in the first round. Crawford used his fast hands and combination punching to keep Smith from getting into the fight. Smith, passive early, began to control the fight behind the jab, and showing defensive prowess as he blocked many incoming shots from Crawford. Around the middle of the fight, and no one clearly leading the fighter exchanged an accidental clash of heads which swole Smith's head similar to the Hasim Rahman's swelling in the Holyfield fight. With a renewed focus, Smith would take over the fight countering Crawford to the head and body. The hooks to the body seemed to take it's toll late in the fight as crawford began to fatigue. In round 9, both guys exchanged punches but Smith's shots were shorter and more crisp as a right cross put the undefeated Crawford down and nearly through the ropes. He would beat the count, but it was clear that he was unfit to continue as he looked really hurt walking back to the corner. The official decided to halt the contest at the end of the ninth round which bring Antwone Smith to 17 - 1 w/ 9KOs.
Marcus "Too Much" Johnson vs Victor Villereal
Johnson would stalk the tough Villereal around the ring, behind a solid jab while using crisp, powerful combinations to the head and body. The game Villereal would not be detered as he endured the fire from Johnson in order to try
